Coronado
Another San Diego tourist attraction is Coronado. Coronado is a small "island" town in San Diego Bay, approximately 7.4 square miles in size, connected to the City of San Diego by the San Diego-Coronado Bridge and to the City of Imperial Beach to the south by State Highway 75. The town is the neighbor of Naval Base Coronado, which includes Naval Air Station North Island, homeport for two aircraft carriers and the Naval Amphibious Base where the elite SEALS are trained. Downtown Coronado boasts unique shops and many restaurants serving residents and visitors. And our award-winning beach, recently ranked second best in the country by the Travel Channel, is a special jewel.
Beach Cities
The name for the collection of beach towns in and around San Diego, you'll find long stretches of beautiful beaches, as well as the Torrey Pines State Reserve, Torrey Pines Golf Course, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UCSD, Hotel del Coronado, and Cabrillo National Monument. La Jolla and Coronado have ritzy shops and luscious beaches. Other communities offer a wider variety of beach action, attractions, and casual appeal.
NAS Naval Air Station Coronado
Naval Base Coronado, yet another San Diego area attraction, is comprised of both Naval Air Station North Island and Naval Amphibious Base Coronado. It is part of Navy Region Southwest and a field activity of Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet. Naval Air Station, North Island (NASNI) is part of the largest aerospace-industrial complex in the Navy, the 57,000-acre Naval Base Coronado.
Imperial Beach
Visitors from all over come to Imperial Beach to enjoy in our beautiful coastline. We are the home to the renown U. S. Open Sandcastle Competition, and our immaculate beach is ideal for swimming, jogging, sunbathing and some world-class surfing. Imperial Beach Pier
The Imperial Beach Pier extends out over the Pacific Ocean for 1,500 feet, and along its walkway you will find great fishing - AND NO FISHING LICENSE IS NEEDED.
Gaslamp Quarter

San Diego Zoo
A popular San Diego attraction for kids is the San Diego zoo. The 100-acre (40-hectare) Zoo is home to 4,000 rare and endangered animals representing more than 800 species and subspecies, and a prominent botanical collection with more than 700,000 exotic plants.
Wild Animal Park
Experience a unique adventure at the 2,100-acre preserve where animals wander freely in surroundings much like their native homelands. A quiet railway, pathways, and animal shows enable visitors to observe the animals and many species of exotic plants.
